A promising young British cricketer has been shot dead in an apparent armed robbery while on holiday in the Caribbean, according to reports.
Adrian St John, 22, is understood to have died in Trinidad over the weekend.
West Indies cricket star Chris Gayle tweeted: ‘Such sad news to hear. My condolences to his family & friends. Adrian St John was the captain of the academy. #Sigh’
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He was a University of Hertfordshire graduate where he studied history and philosophy. He is believed to have British and Trinidadian dual nationality and lived in London.
Leandra Alexander, St John’s cousin, said he had been in Trinidad since the country’s annual carnival in February.
She said: ‘Adrian was very cool and jolly. He was a darling. He was never rude, never disrespectful. He was just a cool and quiet child.’ Article courtesy: http://metro.co.uk
