Recently sixteen representatives of various Caribbean states met in the Hyatt Hotel in Trinidad. There topic of conversation was the matter of the rising AIDS cases in the Caribbean. They spoke about the number of women contracting the virus as well as the social issues they face everyday in life, in their community and in their own homes. The members looked at the
Laws with respect to persons with AIDS stating that they were out of date and discriminatory.
The mind set of individuals in the Caribbean must change. They must practice safe sex. I also believe that some of the religious tenets about not using contraceptives should be altered or changed. I wish that in ten years the AIDS cases plumet dramatically or they find a cure…
