With Brabados and the Windward Islands recording victories today, T&T will want to enhance their third place standing by taking an outright win off Guyana.

Play starts at 9.30 am, so until then it’s goodbye from the Oval. Do have a pleasnat evening.

CLOSE OF PLAY: The light has gotten quite bad and the umpires have offered the batsmen the opportunity to go in, which they accepted. With T&T’s two quickies Gabriel and Emrit operating it was a fair decision by the umpires.

Guyana will start the final day tomorrow still trailing by 28 runs with eight second innings wicket in hand. It will be interesting to see the approach by both teams. Will Guyana play for a draw already having lost first innings or will T&T go for an outright win?

T&T’s BOWLING: Gabriel 6-1-20-2 (1wd), Emrit 5-2-7-0

After 11 overs: GUY 31/2 (Fudadin 16*, Deonarine 1*)

Guyana may have to rely on the consistent Deonarine once again. He had 87 in the first innings and what was his seventh half century of the tournament..

UPDATE: West Indies are 125/4 off 29 overs (Bravo 26*, Pollard 31*)

Bravo takes six runs off Doherty including a boundary. 33 runs to win from 66 balls.

WICKET: Hemraj c Khan b Gabriel 9. GUY 22/2.

Hemraj, like Johnson, is beaten for pace. Gabriel is pretty quick and this one rushed on to the batsman and lobs off the bat to KHan at mid-off. Good accurate bowling by Gabriel. Guyana have lost both openers with 22 runs on the scoreboard. They are still 37 behind on first innings.

UPDATE: West Indies 118/4 off 27 overs (Pollard 29*, Dwayne Bravo 19*)

Need 40 runs from 78 deliveries to win.

After 8 overs: GUY 18/1 (Hemraj 6*, Fudadin 11*)

Slow going here for Guyana. The batsmen are probably playing with one eye on the clock as it’s nearing the close of play.

REGIONAL UPDATE: The WINDWARDS pulled off an improbable 22-run victory after conceding first innings to the CCC and giving them just 132 to win.

SCORES: WIN 149 & 191 vs CCC 209 & 110.

After 5 overs: GUY 9/1 (Hemraj 3*, Fudadin 5*)

Gabriel is working up some pace. The conditions are perfect for him as it was cloudy with no sun or breeze blowing. Idelal conditions to run in and put the batsmen under pressure.

UPDATE: WEst Indies are 102/4 off 23 overs.

Pollard is 24 from 20 balls having blasted three sixes in his brief innings thus far.

UPDATE: West Indies are 81/4 after 20 overs.

Pollard just smacked Christian over mid-wicket for six.The experienced pair of Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are at the wicket.

After 2 overs: GUY 7/1 (Hemraj 2*, Fudadin 5*)

The two batsmen at the wicket will have to do a bit of consolidation afetr the early dismissal of Johnson.

WICKET: Johnson LBW Gabriel 0..GUY 0/1

Gabriel gets T&T going with an early breakthrough. He beats Johnson for pace and traps him plumb in front.

GUYANA 2nd INNINGS: Leon Johnson’ and Chanderpaul Hemraj.are in the middle and Shannon gabriel is ready to run in for T&T as Guyana’s second inninhgs is about to start.

SUMMARY: Three players took the spotlight on the DAy 3 of this contest. Adrian Barath added 40 to his overniught scors of 74 to be dismissed for 114. It was a very important innings and it laid the foundation for T&T to capture first innings. It was also important in the context that it was his first match coming off an injury.

Kevon Cooper played an exceptional innings of 55 just when Guyana seemed to be pegging back T&T. His run-a-ball innings with captain Emrit at the other end took T&T past Guyana’s 290. A very good innings from someone who is more known for his bowling.

Narsingh Deonarine showed what persistent line and length bowling is all about. He stuck to the task admirably, even when the batting got on top of the bowling, to finish with six wickets, including mopping up the last four in quick succession. He fiinished with figures of 43.4-15-71-6

GUYANA’s BOWLING: Bess 16.5-3-45-0, Beaton 4.1-1-11-0, Barnwell 7-0-59-0, Fudadin 5-0-30-0, Permaul 51-20-92-2, Deonarine 43.4-15-71-6, Johnson 1-1-0-0, Sarwan 9-1-27-2.

WICKET: Gabriel b Deonarine 2. T&T 349 All Out

That’s it ladies and gentlemen. T&T is dismissed for for 349 giving them a first innings lead of 59 runs. Narsingh Deonarine turned in another excellent bowling performance collecting six wickets. Excellent effort on a very tough pitch.

REGIONAL UPDATE: CCC are 94/9 chasing 133 for victory against the WINDWARDS.

WICKET: G Mohammed LBW Deonarine 8. T&T 347/9.

Another wicket for Deonarine. He has had some pretty long spell but his persistence sees him collect his fifth wicket of the innings.

WICKET: Emrit c Bess b Deonarine 26. T&T 347/8

Emrit gives it away. He goes for the big shot but fails to clear long-on. After playing a supporting role to Cooper, Emrit tried to change gears and gives his wicket away in the process.

UPDATE: WEst Indies are 42/2 in the 11th over. Marlon Samuels is bowled vy Shane Watson for 20.

UPDATE: West Indies are 42/1 after 10 overs. A good recovery after losing a wicket first ball.

After 134 overs: T&T 343/7 (Emrit 25*, G Mohammed 5*)

Mohammed gets one from Deonarine that’s short and he pulls him away to the mid-wicket boundary. Good shot by Mohammed, it’s sure to boost his confidence.

WICKET: Cooper b Deonarine 58. T&T 336/7

Deonarine’s persistent pays off. It was a much-needed wicket for Guyana. Kudos to Cooper for a brilliant innings at just the right time. The lead is now 46.

After 130 overs: T&T 336/6 (Emrit 24*, Cooper 58*)

After getting three quick wickets between lunch and tea Guyana are once again struggling to make inroads into T&T’s batting. Cooper and Emrit have been playing sensibly and are rather comfortable.

After 128 overs: T&T 332/6 (Emrit 22*, Cooper 57*)

Guyana made a double bowling change with Narsingh Deonarine replaceing Brandon Bess and Veerasammy Permaul taking over from Christopher Barnwell at the Media Centre End. Both batsmen look quite comfortable at this stage.

After 126 overs: T&T 325/6 (Emrit 20*, Cooper 52*)

Cooper brings up his fifty. He has been scoring at a-run-a-ball as his 51 came from 51 balls. A very mature innings from young Cooper.

After 125 overs: T&T 317/6 (Emrit 17*, Cooper 47*)

Cooper plays what is proably the shot of the day. He gets rather effortlessly on the front foot and drives one that was over-picthed by Barnwell wide of mid-off for fouir runs. He’s now three short of a fluent half century. He’s definitely showing his worth with the bat.

After 124 overs: T&T 305/6 (Emrit 16*, Cooper 36*)

Play has resumed and Cooper and Emrit are looking to carry on with the 48-run partnership they compiled before the rain came.

UPDATE: West Indies gtes off to a bad start as they lose Keiran Powell LBW to Brett Lee first ball of the innings. WI 0/1

Mopping up operations are almost through as the groundstaff are doing an extremely good job. Only the main cover is still on the pitch.

UPDATE: Australia innings folded at 54/9 in 340 overs. narine had had McKAy stumped by Baugh off the fourth ball of the over to snag his fourth wicket. Narine ended with figures of 8-1-27-4. He really proved a handfull for the Aussies..

POST TEA SESSION: Tea was concluded about five minutes ago and although the rain has stopped no play is possible as the groundstaff are engaged in mopping up operations.

UPDATE: Australia 137/8. Narine gets two wickets in the 38th over. He first had Matthew Wade caught by Kemar Roach at backward point first ball and two balls later he bowled David Hussey who went on the backfoot to cut one that spun back into him and disturbed his stumps. Great bowling by Narine.

REGIONAL UPDATE: BARBADOS dismissed the LEEWARDS for 172 off 53.1 overs in their second innings to score a massive victory by an innings and 7 runs.

CCC 43/5 & 208 vs WINDWARDS149 & 191. The victory target for CCC is 133.

TEA: The rain is really pouring at the Oval and the umpires have decided to take an early tea. Hopefully during the tea interval the rain will subside enough to allow play to resume.

UPDATE: Australia are 121/6 off 34 overs. Daniel Christian just got run out going for a single that wasn’t on. He keeps running back to the dressing room without waiting for the umpire’s decision There are six overs left in the innings.

RAIN DELAY: The sky just opened up and out of no where the rain is with us. The covers are rushed on to the pitch. This delay will make T&T first innings even more significant should the game finish as a drawn contest.

After 123 overs: T&T 301/6 (Emrit 13*, Cooper 35*)

T&T have secured first innings. The batsmen exchange congratulatory hugs in midpitch. The lead is now 11 with four wickets still intact..

After 122 overs: T&T 290/6 (Emrit 9*, Cooper 28*)

T&T have drawn level with Guyana’s first innings score. I am sure that there are a lot of smiling faces in the T&T camp because getting first innings in this game is crucial for them to maintain a top three finish and qualify for the semi-final rounds.

After 121 overs: T&T 286/6 (Cooper 25*, Emrit 8*)

Guyana took the new ball and replaced Permaul with Barnwell. Cooper straight dives him down to long-off for four to bring T&T that much closer. A mini cameo by Cooper.

DRINKS: The refreshment cart is on the field with T&T needing eight more runs to capture first innings. Score T&T 283/6

After 119 overs: T&T 281/6 (Emrit 7* Cooper 21*)

Cooper has been the more aggressive of the two at the wicket and captain Emrit is more than content with playing a supporting role in their quest for first innings honours..

UPDATE: Australia are 80/4 off 25 overs. The game has been reduced to a 40-over contest due to time lost as a result of rain.

After 117 overs: T&T 276/6 (Emrit 7* Cooper 16*)

Cooper sweeps one down to a vacant fine-leg position and picks up a couple of easy runs. T&T are inching ever so closer and it would be interesting to see the tactics employed by Chanderpaul at this point.

After 116 overs: T&T 273/6 (Emrit 7* Cooper 13*)

Cooper has been mixing aggression with solid defence against Sarwan and Deonarine. He must be thinking that they are very close to that target of 291, which is just 19 away.

After 114 overs: T&T 269/6 (Emrit 5* Cooper 11*)

Cooper executes another cut shot, this time of Deonarine’s bowling. The fielder at cover ran around to try and save the boundary but his effort is in vain as the ball beats him to the fence. First innings is just 22 runs away.

After 113 overs: T&T 264/6 (Emrit 5*, Cooper 6*)

Cooper plays a lovely cut shot and gets a deserving boundary as it raced away to the third man fence.

T&T has experienced a mini collapse of sort having lost three wickets for 35 runs in relatively quick succession. The aim now is to get to 291.

UPDATE: T&T are 257/6 having just lost the wicket of Imran Khan  caught behind for 16. This is a very interesting turn of event as Guyana will now feel that they can restrict T&T to less than 290..

Our last update had T&T at 229/3 with the fall of Barath’s wicket. Since then T&T lost Jason Mohammed just before lunch as he was caught by Johnson at first slips off the bowling of Sarwan for six, to be 233/4 off 103 overs.

After lunch Kanhai went LBW Deonarine for five to leave T&T at 241/5.

WELCOME BACK: We apolofise for the break in coverage but a glitch in our Internet connection curtailed our service to you. We are back on track right now and we will be with you until the close of play.

WICKET:: Barath LBW Deonarine 114. T&T 229/3

Barath tried to sweep Deonarine and missed to go in similar fashio to Barclay. He would be disappointed that he did not carry but he would also be pleased with getting a century. . He’s played a very good inning and unless a devaststing change in fortune, T&T should go on to collect first innings points.

After 97 overs: T&T 229/2 (Barath 114*, J Mohammed 5*)

Mohammed picks up a boundary off Sarwan. He drove one to the right of mid-on and watched as it raced all the way to the fence.

After 95 overs: T&T 223/2 (Barath 112*, J Mohammed 1*)

Jason Mohammed is the new batsman at the wicket and he’s immediately off the mark with a single out to deep extra-cover.

WICKET: Barclay LBW Sarwan 58. T&T 221/2

The bowling change did the job for Guyana. Barclay attempted to sweep Sarwan and was hit plumb in front. Guyana really needed this. However, a well played innings by Barclay. Though he did not carry on further he really cannot be disappointed with this knock.

After 93 overs: T&T 218/1 (Barath 109*, Barclay 57*)

Barath has been scoring a lot more freely this morning. He had one edge earlier that dropped in front of slip but  other than that he’s been flawless. Another bowling change for Guyana as Permaul is replaced by Sarwan at the Media Centre end. Guyana desperately trying everything to break this partnership.

After 91 overs: T&T 214/1 (Barath 107*, Barclay 55)*

Guyana is having a tough time rotating their bowlers due to Beaton being unavailable after yesterday’s injury. Fudadin is replaced by Narsingh Deonarine after a short two-over spell.

Barath’s century contained 11 boundaries and one six.

After 89 overs: T&T 209/1(Barath 102*, Barclay 55*)

Barath notches a brilliant century with a delicate late cut that goes fine between thrid man and point for a boundary. His hundred came from 251 balls, 345 mins. He has really played an anchor role to put T&T in an excellent position. Well done Adrian.

After 88 overs: T&T 203/1 (Barath 97*, Barclay 54*)

Barath goes straight, and high, and mighty; it’s a big 6 to move the opener closer to 100.

This second wicket pair have done an excellt job for T&T. They came together about an hour after lunch yesterday at the fall of Gullien’s wicket with the score on 73. They have since added 130 runs in their unbroken stand.

After 86 overs: T&T 191/1 (Barath 87*, Barclay 52*)

Fudadin replaced Barnwell at the Brian Lara end. He gives just a bit of width to Barath and he’s punished with a boundary through the covers.

T&T have accoplished two milestones in that the hundred partenrship have been posted and they are now 100 runs away from first innings honours.

After 85 overs: T&T 185/1 (Barath 81*, Barclay 52*)

Barclay and Barath are really leading T&T chase of Guyana’s 290 first innings total..Barath will definitely be looking to reach triple figures on his first innings back from injury.

BARCLAY’s 50: Marlon Barclay brings up a well desreved half century in fine style. He clips Barnwell for a boundary then straight drives him for four more. His 50 comes off 202 balls. A timely innings by the young Barclay.

Change of bowling for Guyana. Bess is taken out of the attack and is replaced by Christopher Barnwell at the Brian Lara End.

After 82 overs: T&T 172/1 (Barath 79* Barclay 41*)

Bess is operating in tandem with Permaul but his line has been a bit wide outside off-stump. Barclay is not troubled by that line of attack thus Bess needs to get closer with his deliveries.

NOTE: There is a delayed start to the second One Day International between West Indies and Australia due to rain.

UPDATE: Good news for all our T&T supporters. They have taken the overnight score of 158/1 to 169/1 off 80 overs. Barath is 79* and Barclay 39*.

The new ball is available to Guyana but they opt to continue with Permaul who has bowled an incredible 15 maiden overs in his spell that began after lunch yesterday.
