I recently read an article on keeping love alive and it provided four essential tips for long-term love: Use irritation as a signal to stop and reflect, learn to argue correctly, unite in tough times, practice empathy and do things together. I understood where the writers were coming from, but I also thought…these tips seem to highlight things that go wrong in a relationship…and doesn’t mention the things that were going right; couples should be reminded of that too. That article could have been part of an article called, “Common mistakes couples in long-term relationship make.”
What would I have added to their tips? Don’t forget the reasons you fell in love, plan time together that each of you enjoy. These could also be part of the “Common mistakes couples in long-term relationships make.” Maybe I should write it?…
