On June 11, 2011 during the early afternoon, a team of several gunmen tried to rob a change point in the street of Low Town.
Failing in their criminal purposes, they opened fire, causing no injuries.
In the minutes that followed, a few hundred meters away, they carried out another crime, steeling from a Chinese grocery store under the threat of weapons.
After their act the robbers escaped to the Dutch side of the island. A commission was issued by the judge in Basse-Terre to investigate the facts of this crime.
In the weeks that followed, the police investigators identified, housed and detained one of the alleged perpetrators, who had been brought in Guadeloupe.
On Monday, November 21, 2011, after analysis and reconciliation, an operation was conducted in which two new alleged perpetrators were arrested simultaneously at a home in Sandy Ground by the intervention platoon of the squadron gendarmerie mobile Wissembourg.
The suspect was placed into custody and interviewed by investigators. The two male suspects aged 21 and 22, were brought to Guadeloupe and remanded into custody after consideration by the magistrate.
