In the thirteenth century Ebo artists in Nigeria created over a thousand brass and bronze artifacts that adorned the Kingdom of Benin. These artifacts were since stolen by the British during colonisation and now reside in the British Museum.
Though the Nigerian government have made formal their request for the artifacts to be returned the British government has refused saying it will be happy to ‘share’ the objects with them. How absured is this..?
