DAY 3 SUMMARY: After bowling out the Windward Island for 203 from their overnight position of 121/2, T&T enforced the follow on with a first innings lead of 161. Led by the excellent bowling of Sunil Narine, 25-7-72-5, Imran Khan, 9-1-48-3, and Emile Rajah, 7-2-38-1, T&T restricted Windwards to 232/9 in their second turn at the crease. Windwards had a battling 88 from captain Darren Sammy.

AT STUMPS: Windwards 232/9. (Mathurin 28*, Johnson 19*) 58 overs.

The players walk off as the umpires call time. T&T will be quite happy about their position to force an outright victory early tomorrow. Windwards’ lead is 71 with just one wicket in hand. A good allround performance by T&T, especially their bowlers who were led by the ten-wicket match haul of Sunil Narine.

After 57 overs: Windwards 232/9 (Mathurin 28*, Johnson 19*)

Johnson takes two sixes off Narine to add some vital runs to the total. They will try to add as much as possible to what is  not much of a lead.

After 55 overs: Windwards 219/9 (Johnson 7*, Mathurin 26*)

The last two batsmen are collecting some very cheeky runs as fielders are losing the ball in the shadows, to the benefit of the batting side.

WICKET: Pascal c Ramdin b Narine 1. Windwards 211/9

Pascal goes for the big shot and top edges to Ramdin at mid-wicket. Narine collects his second five wicket haul of the match.

WICKET: Shillingford c Emrit b Rajah for 22. Windwards 205/8.

Shillingford tried once to many. He used his feet and went down the pitch in an attempt to clear the long on fence but only succeeded in hitting down the throat of Reyad Emrit on the long on boundary. Rajah picks up his first wicket at regional level.

After 52 overs: Windwards 205/7 (Shillingford 22*, Mathurin 21*)

Narine comes back with five good deliveries after being smacked over long on by Shillingford first ball.

After 49 overs: Windwards 195/7 (Mathurin 19*, Shillingford 15*)

Mathurin collects a boundary off Khan to move to 19* and bring his team five runs short of 200. Every run scored at this point is vital as they would want to give T&T something substantial to go at. The eight wicket partnership is now worth 29.

After 47 overs: Windwards 186/7 (Shillingford 13*, Mathurin 12*)

Shillingford takes the attack to Khan hitting him for a boundary followed by a six to take 13 off the over for the Windwards.

After 44 overs: Windwards 173/7 (Mathurin 11*, Shillingford 1*)

Narine is brought back into the attack and is on the money with a maiden over.

WICKET: Sebastien c Bravo b Khan for 29. Windwards 166/7

Sebastien makes a mess of an attempted pull and only manage to get the ball high in the air in the position of leg slip and Bravo runs around the keeper from first slip to take an easy catch.

After 40 overs: Windwards 161/6 (Sebastien 25*, Mathurin 5*)

Sebastien takes two boundaries off Gabriel in this over to erase the deficit. It means that T&T will have to bat a second time.

After 39 overs: Windwards 151/6 (Mathurin 4*, Sebastien 16*)

Mathurin gets of the mark by hitting Khan over mid on for a boundary.

After 38 overs: Windwards 147/6 (Sebastien 16*, Mathurin 0*)

Gabriel is back into the attack replacing Sunil Narine. Sebastien stepped up the tempo a bit but escapes being run out by Ramdin after reaching halfway down the wicket before being sent back by Mathurin.

WICKET: James lbw Khan for 3. Windwards 141/6

Khan’s probing line of attack finally paid dividends as a quicker, flatter one from him caught James on the backfoot and he could not get the bat down in time to avoid being hit plumb in front. Sebastien had earlier survived a confident lbw appeal just a couple balls before.

After 34 overs: Windwards 136/5 (James 2*, Sebastien 6*)

New bat in is Lyndon James and he gets off the mark almost immediately. This pair will have to do some serious rebuilding with the top half of their batting back in the pavilion.

WICKET: Sammy bowled by Khan for 88. Windwards 133/5

Khan had the last laugh by bowling Sammy around his legs after being roughed up early in the over. Sammy hit him for two sixes and a boundary off the first three deliveries but Khan switched his line of attack to over the wicket and the move paid off.

After 32 overs: Windwards 117/4 (Sebastien 5*, Sammy 72*)

Emrit and Narine has had the batsmen quiet for the past three overs. Sammy is content to be patience and wait for the odd bad ball.

After 29 overs: Windwards 110/4 (Sammy 66*, Sebastien 4*)

Sammy picks up a boundary through midwicket after receiving a short ball from Emrit which he put away quite nicely.

After 27 overs: Windwards 100/4 (Sebastien 1*, Sammy 60*)

The hundred comes up for the Windwards in the 27th over. Sammy has played a good innings for his 60 at this point.

Two consecutive maiden overs, one from Narine and the other from Emrit, keeps the batsmen quiet at the start of the post tea session.

After 24 overs: Windwards 94/4 (Sammy 56*, Sebastien 0*)

Narine starts the evening session with a maiden over.

POST TEA SESSION: Narine will pick up the attack bowling to Liam Sebastien

AT TEA: Windwards are 95/4 with captain Darren Sammy on 56*. They still need to score another 66 runs to wipe off the first innings deficit. See you in twenty minutes

After 23 overs: Windwards 95/4 (Sebastien 0*, Sammy 56*)

T&T are certainly happy about breaking the fourth wicket partnership, which yielded 80 runs. With tea approaching the batsmen are very circumspect and are not taking any risks.

WICKET: Lesporis c Gullien b Narine for 21. Windwards 95/4

Narine strikes again. He induced Lesporis into a false paddle sweep and the ball pops off his bat, then pad to short leg where Justin Gullien takes a sharp catch. Narine now has 4/29 from ten overs.

After 21 overs: Windwards 93/3 (Sammy 56*, Lesporis 19*)

The Windwards would be pleased with the attempt by these two. Lesporis, who showed he can be an attacking batsman, has been content with playing a subdued role while Sammy takes the attack to the T&T bowlers.

After 19 overs: Windwards 91/3. (Lesporis 18*, Sammy 55*)

Another boundary for Sammy, this time on the up from Emrit but Sammy picks the cover region.

After 18 overs: Windwards 86/3 (Lesporis 17*, Sammy 51*)

Sammy wades into Narine, slogging him over long off for six and then driving wide of midwicket for a boundary. The partnership is now worth 71 runs.

After 17 overs: Windwards 76/3 (Sammy 41*, Lesporis 17*)

Reyad Emrit replaces Rajah and is unlucky not to have the wicket of Lesporis who edges him between slips and gully to the third man boundary for four.

After 16 overs:Windwards 68/3 (Lesporis 9*, Sammy 41*)

Sammy goes after Rajah hitting him for two sixes and a four in an expensive over. One ball was hit straight back past young Rajah but crashed into the midriff of umpire Joel Wilson, who was unable to get out of the way in time and saved T&T four runs in the process.

After 15 overs: Windwards 52/3 (Sammy 25*, Lesporis 9*)

Sammy gets one right in the slot from Narine and accepts the gift by dispatching it over midwicket for six. As a bowler he would not mind spoiling the figures of Narine.

After 13 overs: Windwards 43/3 (Lesporis 7*, Sammy 18*)

Sammy and Lesporis are desperately trying to repair the early damage done by Narine. They still face an uphill task as Emile Rajah, who replaced the fiery Gabriel, is keeping it tight in tandem with Narine.

After 10 overs: Windwards 34/3 (Sammy 11*, Lesporis 5*)

Hostility from Gabriel who fires the ball back at Sammy after collecting. The keeper saves 4 overthrows. Both are at each other.

After 8 overs: Windwards 21/3 (Lesporis 4*, Sammy 2*)

Shannon Gabriel has found his rhythm and is bowling a fiery spell of short, rising, testing deliveries at both batsmen.

After 5 overs: Windwards 16/3 (Sammy 1*, Lesporis 1*)

Sunil Narine has the impeccable figures of 3-0-2-3 in the second innings which is less than half an hour old. The pair of Sammy and Lesporis will have to consolidate if they are to avoid crashing to an embarrassing defeat.

WICKET: Charles c Bravo b Narine for 10. Windwards 15/3.

Narine gets Charles to take a slash at one wide of the off stump and he only succeeded in getting the edge to Bravo at first slip. Disappointing start for the Windwards. Captain Darren Sammy walks to the middle.

After 4 overs: Windwards 14/2 (Charles 10*, Lesporis 0*)

Four byes in the previous over by Narine and two well taken boundaries by Charles off the fourth over bowled by Gabriel takes the score to 14/2.

After 2 overs: Windwards 2/2 (Lesporis 0*, Charles 2*)

Gabriel opens the bowling with Narine and he concedes two runs off his first over.

After 1 over: Windward 0/2 (Charles 0*, Lesporis 0*)

Johnson Charles and Keddy Lesporis are both yet to score after a shocking first over.

WICKET: A. Fletcher c Ganga b Narine 0. Windwards 0/2.

Narine sends back Fletcher first ball he faces as he plays the ball straight into the hands of Ganga fielding close to the wicket at silly point. Fletcher collects a ‘pair’ in the match, something he would love to forget. Narine completes a successful first over, a maiden that produced two wickets.

WICKET: D. Smith c J. Mohammed b Narine without scoring. Windwards 0/1.

Narine strikes off just the second ball of the second innings. He gets Smith to drive at one but unfortunately for the batsman he hits it straight to Jason Mohammed at mid-off to head back to the dressing room for a duck.

POST LUNCH SESSION: The Windward Islands begin their second innings afetr being asked to follow on. Sunil Narine once again opens the bowling for T&T and will be delivering to Devon Smith.

AT LUNCH: T&T have enforced the follow on while holding a first innings lead of 161. The Windwards will begin their second innings after the lunch interval. See you in 40 minutes.

SUMMARY: Windward Island crashed to 203 all out from 66.1 overs after beginning the day at 121/2. They lost their last eight wickets for the addition of 82 runs. Excellent bowling by T&T bowlers paved the way for a lead of 161. Shannon Gabriell finished with 3/61 from 13 overs while Sunil Narine returned figures of 5/49 from 28.1 overs including 10 maidens. Reyad Emrit and Imran Khan chipped in with a wicket apiece.

WICKET: Pascal lbw Narine without scoringWindwards 203 all out, 66.1 overs.

The Windward Islands’ innings fold for 203 on the stroke of lunch as Narine has Pascal adjudged LBW with one that went straight on, with the batsman looking to play with the turn. Narine picks up his fifth wicket of the innings.

WICKET: Shillingford bowled by Gabriel for 17. Scores 196/9

Windwards lose two wickets from two deliveries. Garbiel bowls Shillingford off an inside edge from the first delivery of the 65th over. A  full length delivery, which rockets into the middle stump. The final ball from the 64th over bowled by Narine saw the fall of James’ wicket.

WICKET: James c Ramdin b Narine for 25. Score 196/8

Whether its was as a result of changing ends or his steady line and length but Narine had James pushing at one that spun slightly away from him. He got the outside edge and Ramdin fielding at first slip gleefully accepted a low catch.

After 63 overs: Windwards 195/7 (Shillingford 17*, James 24*)

A change of ends for Sunil Narin (3/45). He’s now bowling from the Media Centre End with a slip & Guillen at short-leg. Narines concedes four runs off a cheeky shot from Shillingford to runs down to the thirdman boundary.

After 61 overs: Windwards 190/7 (James 24*, Shillingford 12*)

Gabriel was introduced into the attack to replace Narine. Two quiet overs has slowed the tempo of the batsmen.

After 59 overs: Windwards 186/7 (Shillingford 7*, James 24*)

James has adopted a no nonsense attitude and deposits Khan over long-on for another huge six. The two batsmen are going after anything they believe is there for the taking.

After 58 overs: Windwards 175/7 (James 15*, Shillingford 6*)

James goes after Narine and clouts him for the maximum. Some rearguard action from the Windwards’ lower order.

After 57 overs: Windwards 169/7 (Shillingford 6*, James 9*)

Shillingford goes over the top with one that’s tossed up to him by Khan and deposits it in the Gerry Gomez stand for a massive six to get off the mark.

After 55 overs: Windwards 163/7 (James 9*, Shillingford 0*)

Narine has figures of 3/39 while Khan is 1/14. The T&T bowlers have done well to peg back the Windwards, and it all started with that steady opening spell by Emrit this morning.

WICKET: G. Mathurin c Mohammed b Khan, for no score. Windwards 163/7

The Windwards are in a spot of trouble at 163/7 as Imran Khan picks up his first wicket of the match. He deceived Mathurin into playing one that did not spin much straight into the hands of Jason Mohammed at silly point. It’s a far cry from their overnight position of 121/2.

WICKET: Sammy caught J. Mahammed bowled Narine for 13. Windwards 162/6

Sammy goes caught bat pad at silly point by Jason Mohammed after surviving a confident appeal the previous ball. Another wicket for Narine who has had a lengthy spell but finally delivering the goods.

After 49 overs: Windwards 161/5 (Sammy 13*, James 7*)

James showed that he can hit the ball, lofting Khan for a mighty 6 over long-on and into the stand. That was a great shot.

UPDATES: GUY 294 all out (O. Brown 6/100, N. Miller 2/56) vs JAM 146/3 (B. Nash 46*); BAR 237 and 103/1 vs CCC 145 all out (K. Roach 4/49, T. Best 4/33, S. Benn 2/16)

After 45 overs: Windwards 150/5 (Sammy 13*,  James 0*)

Imran Khan has replaced Emrit in the attack and immediately gets into a steady line and length. New batsman is Lyndon James.

WICKWT: Liam Sebastien caught Bravo bowled Narine for no score. Windwards 1475

New batsman Sebastien did not fare well. He got a delivery from Narine that spun away and took the edge. The ball flew to Ganga at second slip but he failed to hang on to the catch, however, an alert Barvo at first slip dived full lenght to his left and scooped the rebound inches from the ground with his right hand. A brilliant catch by Bravo.

WICKET: Lesporis bowled by Narine for 84. Windwards 147/4

Narine give this delivery a bit more air and he was able to lure Lesporis into a full blooded drive. The batsman missed completely and had his stumps rattled.

After 41 overs: Windwards 147/3 (Lesporis 83*, Sammy 6*)

Sammy gets off the mark with a powerful cut shot from a short and wide delivery from Emrit that sped to the cover boundary. A flick off the legs brings him a couple of runs. Emrit just seem to lose his line in this over.

After 39 overs: Windwards 140/3 (Sammy 0*, Lesporis 81*)

Emrit has been bowling well within himself this morning and he has been troubling Lesporis with the movement he’s been getting. Quite a steady spell.

WICKET: Devon Smith LBW Emrit for 34Windwards 137/3

Emrit gets the early breakthrough with a persistent line and length that eventually undid Smith. The bowler went around the wicket and beat Smith all ends up to have him plumb in front.

Overnight batsmen Keddy Lesporis and Devon Smith has extended the score from 121/2.
