I would have hoped for a change with a firm handshake to Mr Sammy, “Thanks for your services, we are going for a change of leadership!”. However, this is not the case. The selectors have stuck with the Captain and now we welcome the Pakistani’s to tour the Caribbean.
Looking at the squad, one player whom I know personally and have seen in action is Krishmar Santokie, whom buyultramnow.com may not be as well known to many West Indies fans. Kris is quick and I have seen him destroy many a batting line up whilst learning his trade in Buckinghamshire with cricket team Farnham Royal whilst I was coaching a rival club at youth level. He would have had plenty of good experience bowling in England, at times assisted by the conditions. He is hostile and hungry for success. I remember saying to him why do you try and play for the West Indies? He wasn’t so confident at the time.. 5 years on and he is now on the squad. Good luck to him and Kris if you do read this.. just keep believing in the dream. Things certainly have changed in the selection process, if we could send more of our players abroad to gain valuable experience.. it can only be of benefit to the future of West Indies Cricket. There are a few other new names which I shall be going and doing some research on and do a separate blog on…
Also very glad to see Samuels back in the squad, I have always been a fan and feel he will strengthen the middle order.
I have taken the liberty of pulling the information off the West Indies Cricket Board Website with the official squad and dates of the upcoming matches. I will be looking for strong performances from the West Indies against from what I hear is going to be a young Pakistan squad which will be touring.
