guyana records 28 new covid-19 cases

Information reaching CaribDirect.com suggests The Ministry of Health today recorded 28 new COVID-19 cases from a total of 329 tests. This brings the number of confirmed cases to a staggering 6, 407.

The breakdown is as follows: Region One, five cases, Regions Two, Three and Eight all confirmed two new cases while Region Four confirmed 11 new cases. Regions Five, Seven and Nine are reported to have one new case while  Region Ten confirmed three new cases.

It is reported that there are 270 individuals in self-isolation, with 18 in government sponsored isolation and five individuals are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital. Forty-six people thought to have been in contact with coronavirus positive individuals are in quarantine.

Of the total number of persons who contracted the disease 5, 948 have recovered while sadly 166 persons have died.
