We are MOTHERS not birthing persons

There’s a new phrase in town called ‘Birthing Persons’¹. It was coined by the gender ideology movement which seeks to eradicate separate genders of male and female, and for people to not be called ‘Men’ and ‘Women’. Please note this is not an article to bring judgement on any person, personal choice, establishment, faith or religion. It is highlighting where society appears to be heading. It’s evident that there’s an onslaught on Christian beliefs, as it seems that there is an agenda to erode God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit out of the human soul globally.

It is clearly apparent that if we as Christians do not accept nor believe in ‘Gender Neutral Ideologies’ we are labelled as transphobic, and that is simply not true. My article should not be viewed as the basis for biblical theoretical arguments or debates. Everyone of us has a choice in what they believe and how we want to live. That being the case let us not make our differences be the cause for salacious mudslinging at each other, because at the end of the day every person on the planet’s blood is red and we need air to breath.

I’m a Christian lady who believes the Bible wholeheartedly. God is love and according to Romans 13:8  He has called us His children to owe no man nothing but love. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to agree on how one decides to live their own individual life. It’s not my job to convince people that God loves them or convert them to Christianity. Furthermore if they disagree with my beliefs that’s fine as everyone is born with the gift of free will.

The Bible states clearly in Genesis 1:27 and 5:2 that God made 2 genders of human beings, male and female. He also gave the terminologies of ‘man’ to Adam in Genesis 1:26 and Adam named his wife ‘Woman’ because she came from his rib Genesis 2:23. He also called her ‘Eve’ because she is the ‘Mother’ of all living, Genesis 3:20. We can see both the words woman and mother came from the Bible. Hence, I’m trying to understand why man feels that he needs to change what we Christians believe is the divine order of God? Why does man feel that if Christian views are in opposition to his beliefs that we’re to be labelled a ‘hobic’ of some sort. Man in his natural state didn’t write the Bible; it was written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit according to 2 Peter 1:21.

I’m a gender born, menstruating woman that has given birth to children, to be known as a woman and a mother is a beautiful term as it denotes who I am, a carrier of life, a nurturer, who’ll love her children forever. To be known as a ‘birthing person’ in my opinion is an insult to God, and furthermore there’s no personality to this term. If someone is able to explain why it’s necessary to remove the terms ‘woman’ and ‘mother’ from languages and culture and that it was ordained by God to do so, I’d be willing to listen. But until then I conclude by saying ‘Lord we need you – now in Jesus name’, Amen!

So until next time, remember you are beautiful and wonderfully made – With love Amanda x
