Caribbean news. CaribDirect and Shiloh PR are delighted to announce yet another powerful woman in mainstream media, Miranda Wayland, diversity and inclusion manager for ITV. Miranda is the third in a string of influential industry professionals to provide support to the distinguished panel from the floor along with Michelle Matherson from ITV Shiver Studios, Neila Butt, BBC’s diversity editor for English regions and Baby Isako, SKY film creator / writer of Venus vs Mars. Miranda is responsible for the development and implementation of ITV’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy. ITV is an inclusive employer and recognises that its people is its greatest asset, Miranda is tasked with infusing diversity within the organisation and supporting the business to attract and retain the best talent to the organisation, she also has the responsibility to ensure that colleagues are fully supported to be their best within the work place.  Diversity falls within the remit of ITV’s Corporate Responsibility business objectives.

In this role, she works closely with stakeholders, programme makers, HR Directors and operational teams to create a framework that supports ITV to attract, retain and progress diverse talent within the workforce. Miranda also works pan industry through her involvement with CDN – Creative Diversity Network and currently Chair’s the West Yorkshire Diversity Forum in Leeds. She is also a frequent speaker at diversity events such as Stonewall Workplace conferences and Mama Youth Project, sharing her knowledge and expertise to help future proof the industry and inspire the next generation of talent. The extent of her remit, sees her advising Government and Ministers to support in the delivery of the Disability Confident Conference aim at FTSE 100 employers and externally she is an Advisory board member for ShineMedia .

Billed for Wednesday 17th December 2014 at the Westminster Kingsway College, 211 Grays Inn Rd, London WC1X 8RA, (take Northern Line to Kings Cross and exit onto Kings Cross Square, bear left , at lights cross over to Grays Inn road and walk for 5 minutes) with registration beginning at 6.30pm the event will be moderated by veteran radio broadcaster / writer / publisher Dotun Adebayo MBE. The seminar, is being conducted in memory of the late comedian / actor Felix Dexter who was originally due to chair last year’s seminar but passed away two months before.
