Tuesday June 12, 2012 was the birthday of dancehall veteran artist Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Price. Radio hosts and disc jocks made sure, their listeners who were not aware, aware and reminded those who forgot.
In the morning, ZJ Sparks, a disc jock on Zip 103 fm gave her tribute with a 15 minutes Bounty Killer selection. Also, the host of Ruption, on RJR 94 fm, the fluffy diva, Miss Kitty, gave her tribute with her Bounty Killer selections. Other radio stations also had Bounty Killer tunes in rotation, ranging from early days War Lord Bounty Killer, to today’s partying, Hennessey drinking Bounty Killer.
The Killer celebrated his 40thbirthday this year. They say life begins at 40 and Killer seemed to have found a new gear over the past year. He seemed to have found the hit making gear again. So I am excited to see what Bounty has up his sleeves for the beginning of his life.
But with all the birthday wishes and celebrations, I just want to know the answer for two questions. Question 1; who did Bounty Killer spend his special day with? Question 2: what was Bounty’s birthday wish?
Well after watching his On Stage interview with Winford Williams, I think I know the answer to at least one of those questions. Yes it is question number two. I am almost sure that when Bounty blew out his candles, he wished for a US work permit. As for the first question, I will just wait on the photographs to be released like the last time; he was spotted spending some quality time with a fellow artist of the opposite sex.
Of course, I cannot close this article without sending my birthday wishes to the Killer. By the time this article is published, it will be way past June 12, 2012 so let me say happy belated birthday to Bounty Killer. I hope you had a blast.
