Faith And Resilience in the Time of Trial

July 2021 my world was turned upside down, I received family news that no one wants to hear. A barrage of emotions hit my spirit, soul and body of how I was going to take the next step while waiting for matters to hopefully come to a positive conclusion.

Life can turn on a spin of a coin one minute I was enjoying my busy productive life, the next I was faced with a matter that was beyond any previous experience I’d encountered, all I could do was fall on my face and cry out to God Almighty.

I soon discovered that there were some people around who could have walked the journey with me, instead they chose to be obstructive which was totally surprising. However others gave tenderness, love and compassion, they covered my vulnerability, nakedness and pain.

How does faith and resilience play a part in awful situations? As a Christian my faith in God lets me know I’m not alone in this storm. I know that God is with me and His strength is my resilience, which is what I need to continue with my life until this matter is resolved one way or the other.

Please be encouraged that God wants to help and strengthen us despite what we go through, we must just give every single area of our life to Him. Only God knows how to work things out perfectly, Deuteronomy 31:8 that “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”  He will always bring what we need to persevere to the very end.

Trials will come and they can take us out, but if we put our trust in God we then become stronger to the point that we can also help others. As of date my storm has not yet ceased, and even though my emotions are screaming pain and negativity, through faith and resilience the Spirit of God is lifting a standard against them. I hear God saying repeatedly “Amanda put your faith, hope and trust in me…I’ve got you”. Those words are my peace, strength, joy and are giving me the ability to continue to enjoy life while He sorts out this tumultuous situation. I pray that whatever you’re going through right now that the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guards your heart and mind in Jesus Name, Philippians 4:6

Get out of the boat of depressing emotions which are seeking to keep you down and look onto Jesus who’s the author and finisher of your faith, Hebrews 12:2. Be that beacon of hope to the glory of God and for someone else, you can do it, because greater is He who is within you, than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4

Until next time, remember you are beautiful and wonderfully made – With love Amanda x
