Another landmark for TTHC with 1st annual Carnival All-Inclusive Fete

On Sunday 2nd March, while revellers in the Caribbean island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago are gearing up for the massive two-day explosion of culture and revelry that is Carnival, the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission will be bringing the excitement of the festival to the United Kingdom.

The Trinidad and Tobago High Commission’s First Annual All-Inclusive Carnival Fete will be held at the exclusive The Roof Gardens in London, a venue well known for its enchanting settings. While patrons will delight in the elegant ambiance, there will certainly be no lack of the authentic Trinbagonian Carnival spirit.

Guests will be treated to a live performance by Trinbagonian soca master and multiple Calypso, Road March and Soca Monarch, Shurwayne Winchester. Winchester, whose hits include the anthems “Dead or Alive” and “The Band Coming”, will be looking to set the crowd ablaze with his trademark fiery performance, one which London will surely never forget. In addition to soca and calypso, guests can look forward to the rousing beats of Indo-Trinbagonian tassa drums. Of course, the audience will also be thrilled by the sweet sounds of Trinidad and Tobago’s national instrument, the steel pan.

The Fete will introduce Londoners to a true premium all-inclusive experience, featuring a mouth-watering spread of Trinbagonian cuisine such as roti, accra, pholourie, corn soup and pelau as well as a full bar of top-shelf spirits, including national rums from the famous Trinbagonian distillery, House of Angostura, as well as lager from the Carib brewery.

Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner, His Excellency Garvin Nicholas saw a great need to give Trinbagonian nationals and Londoners a taste of the Carnival experience. “Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival is such an integral facet of our culture, and is truly an extraordinary, out of this world event,” H.E. Nicholas remarked. “I am really looking forward to giving nationals who cannot make it home the opportunity to enjoy this euphoric experience. I am also excited to share our culture with all of our British friends who have never taken part in Carnival – I know that after they attend this fete they will be as addicted to Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival as we are and will be eager to book their Carnival 2015 trip!”

Without a doubt, this is an occasion which is sure to light up even the greyest London sky. To be a part of this history-making event, kindly contact [email protected] for further information.
