A Place of your Own!! When Is It Right To Leave Home

A lot of financial analysts are predicting that the recession will resurface in 2012. This is so because the Euro zone is unstable because of the burden it is receiving from Greece, Spain and Ireland. So we are finding a lot of young adults unwilling to move out of their parent’s home. And in some instances they are actually moving in their respective partners into their parent’s home.

It has traditionally been a problem for young adults to feel independent when still living in their parent’s home. This will be even more complicated if their respective partner moves in. Parents have a difficulty letting go of their parental responsibility over their children especially if they are in close proximity to them.

However, because of the difficult economic climate that we are currently living in, the young adults have no other choice but to remain at their parent’s home.

Thus, this is the problem; having your partner at your parent’s home while your parent is still treating you like a child. Or worse yet, it is not uncommon for mothers to have a distaste for their son’s choice of partner.  Thus if this is indeed the case then the living arrangement will definitely be uncomfortable for all concerned.

The joy of independence

I am not going to say be radical and move out of one’s parent’s secure home into an unsecure rent home. This will not be wise because some landlords are even worse than a nosy parent.  It will be like jumping out of a boat into a sea without first learning how to swim, because you want to make a point. You will in effect be the teacher and student, which is not a good lesson if you are the only one that is learning.

On the other hand, I will say remain in your parent’s home and save up for a down payment on a home of your own. You can do research on the different agencies that offer home loans to get a better understanding of the process that is involved in the acquisition of a house. A house is the greatest investment one can make.
