Thomas led a three-member ministerial team in meetings with representatives from GBL and the Technical and Allied Workers Union.
“The meeting was substantive, cordial and respectful,” said Sen. Glen Noel, the Minister of State with responsibility for Information and Mobilisation. “The Breweries delegation thanked the Prime Minister for his invitation and welcomed his involvement in the process.”
The discussions came following an invitation by Thomas to members of the TAWU and GBL aimed at facilitating the return of GBL employees to work.
The government delegation included Thomas, Noel and Finance Minister Nazim Burke.
They were joined by GBL Chairman Andrew Sabga, Dr Patrick Antoine, and Deighton Mitchell.
The TAWU delegation was led by its president, Sen. Chester Humphrey, along with Bert Patterson, Andre Lewis, Trevor Xavier and shop stewards of the union.
The impasse came to a boil in December, when Humphrey was arrested by police.
