Food conference takes aim at Africa

Theme: African and Caribbean Food and Beverage – Going Global

London-based company, CaribDirect Multi-Media has joined forces with Nigerian business consultancy, Compass Global, for the delivery of the second international Caribbean Food and Drink Conference 2018 under the theme African Caribbean Food and Beverage – Going Global.

The aim of this unique event is to promote African Caribbean products and services to the world while examining business and trade policies that affect the capacity of Africa and the Caribbean Markets to compete in the UK/global food space; in addition to the impact of such policies on exports and global business ties.

The CEO of CaribDirect Multi-Media, David F. Roberts, said, “The main aim of the Caribbean Food and Drink Conference is to help provide the tools for businesses to trade effectively with the UK, Europe, and other parts of the World. Additionally, this event intends to assist Caribbean and African companies increase their value and competitiveness in the global food space; particularly within the United Kingdom, and the rest of Europe.”

Influential business leaders from the UK, Caribbean and Africa who will be speaking at the Caribbean Food and Drink Conference include Jethro Greene, Chief Co-ordinator ECTAD Caribbean from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, UK Trade and Investment veteran Bryan Treherne, MBE, Diabetes expert Tony Kelly, African speakers including Fatai Towolawi a fundraising specialist among several others.

They will be speaking on subjects as diverse as UK Trade Regulations, BREXIT, Branding, Food and Diabetes; including other topics such as Food Waste Management and food security. The event will host three days of African activities from November 14th up to Saturday 17th including, African Dinner and Chef showfest, lectures and cultural presentation.

The event will culminate with the Conference that will feature exhibitions and one 2 one meetings between buyers and sellers on Monday 19th November at Braithwaite Halls, Croydon.
