Many people think that once they walk at least 10,000 steps a day they’ll lose weight. Well yes, to a certain extent, but no, if that’s all you intend to do.
You must understand your calorie intake via food and how many calories are used via your daily activities, but as a walking start, don’t always rely on what treadmills and fitness trackers tell you, unless you have supplied them with the information that pertains to you; and you have to put in your actual information, not guesstimates.
Here’s what you need to understand: When you string fast-paced steps together for 30 minutes or more you’re going to get the biggest minute-per-minute weight-loss benefit. If your heart isn’t pumping and you aren’t breaking a sweat that’s a sign that you’re not going to achieve your goals.
There are many apps you can download that will measure your speed, but again, programme all your correct measurements and goals and go through what the app does before you use it.
