A 10-member delegation from Trinidad and Tobago will visit St. Lucia this week on a promotional blitz. The June 21 – 23 Roadshow dubbed Come Enjoy T&T, will promote Trinidad and Tobago as a vacation destination with its exciting calendar of events which include T&T Carnival. The Roadshow will also promote Trinidad & Tobago as a leading producer and exporter of a vast array of products and services. Among the highlights of the trip will be an interface with local Travel Agents and the Media on Wednesday June 22 at the Coal Pot Restaurant from 6:00 p.m.

Members of the visiting delegation, which includes tourism officials, representatives of the Trinidad Hotel Restaurants and Tourism Association, and Caribbean Airlines, will host local trade partners to an evening of cocktails and dinner Trinbagonian style. There will be a presentation followed by an interactive ‘Question and Answer Session’ that will better equip agents to sell Destination T&T. The second major event is a Tourism Showcase to be held at the Blue Coral Mall on Thursday June 23 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The showcase will give the visiting T&T tour operators and hotel reps the opportunity to present packages directly to local consumers. Prizes, giveaways, and special offers will be the order of the day. Live entertainment will be provided by Trinidadian steel pan soloist and arranger Darryl Reid – one of the young and upcoming gems of the Steel Pan World. Tobago-born Oscar Benjamin, aka Oscar B, with hits such as Soca Tattie, Brassline and Soca Butterfly, will delight the crowd with his unique blend of Reggae, Soca and Ska.

“We relish the opportunity to tell St. Lucians more about our two islands and unique experiences” says Carla Cupid, Marketing Specialist at the Tourism Development Company – TDC. “There is no other place in the Caribbean like T&T. In the True Caribbean, we’ve got something for everyone! A weekend getaway, a leisurely beach vacation, meetings and conventions, sports events, or an eco-adventure.”

Local DJs Selector Twist and Hyper D will be on hand to further entertain the crowd.
Come Enjoy T&T Roadshow is part of a continued thrust by the TDC to promote intra-regional travel within the islands of the Caribbean. Approximately 4500 St. Lucians travel to Trinidad each year and the numbers continue to grow. An estimated 14,731 nationals of Trinidad & Tobago visited St. Lucia in 2015
