Spiritual commentary. “Greetings, favoured one! The Lord is with you.” Reads Luke 1:28, Have you ever wondered how you were able to endure hard times without losing your sanity? It is because you have God’s Favour.
Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. It is an approval, support, or liking toward someone or something according to: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/favour
Favour is a divine gift given to you from God, he loves you even “When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.” Reads The book of Psalms Chapter 27 verse 10.
Having God’s Favour doesn’t exempt you from experiencing hard times but, it does mean “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” Isaiah 54:17. You will be protected no matter what. ”For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favour You will surround him as with a shield” Psalms 5:12.
Once upon a time I didn’t believe God could favour a sinner, such as myself but, through my trials and tribulations I miraculously noticed some way, somehow God protected me and provided for me.
As a born again Christian I realized God loved me even when I was a sinner. Romans 5:8 reads “ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
In the book of Proverbs chapter 8 verse 35 in The New King James version of The Bible it reads “For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favour from the Lord”
Life is a wonderful journey filled with contradictory oppositions such as hope and disappointment, a beginning and an end. Without challenges life would be unadventurous. In 2015, know you have God’s Favour upon your life. Happy New Year.
