- We’re excited to welcome David Forgenie to the ACSIS EXCHANGE platform as our special guest speaker for a critical discussion on food trade, policy, and resilience in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
- David is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural Economics at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, with an impressive research portfolio that spans global food systems. His expertise includes econometric modelling, welfare analysis, and sustainable food policy, with a regional emphasis on the Caribbean.
- He has conducted landmark research into household food-consumption patterns in Indonesia and carbon-emission dynamics in India, offering global insights that are deeply relevant to our shared challenges in the Caribbean. Most recently, David has been contributing to critical studies on the food-security implications of the IMO Mid-term Measures for Caribbean nations, in partnership with UWI Cave Hill and University College London.
- David has presented technical findings at the International Maritime Organization and leading global conferences, including the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association Annual Meeting, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
