Don’t Give Up On Your Dreams

On Sunday 14th August 2022, I was startled and understood for the first time the importance of not giving up on your dreams.

Let me explain, I attended a ‘Pink Garden Party, hosted by a lovely lady called Kim Langstroth from Bishops Stortford. I’d previously met Kim at another lady’s networking event around June/July 2021, where I first mentioned my charitable organisation ‘Female Dignity’. Like most social gatherings COVID played its part to ensure for one reason or another we didn’t have the opportunity to meet again. However, around the end of June 2022, I received a surprise message from Kim expressing her plans to host a ‘Pink Garden Party’ at her home in aid of raising funds for Female Dignity, you can imagine my shocked but thorough gladness in hearing this amazing news.

You see, Female Dignity was born from a seed planted in my heart on a film set in 2015 concerning the plight that girls and women suffered during menstruation in developing countries. This was due to either the lack of feminine products not being available or that they were extortionate in price or unaffordable, therefore impacting girls education negatively and consequently leading to loss of future opportunities as girls would on average miss 12 weeks a year from school.

From 2015 to date I’d been working tirelessly behind the scenes doing research and speaking to numerous persons on this issue, and felt on many occasions overwhelmed at the huge task ahead of me. At other times I felt great fulfilment in knowing that I was serving the needs of womanhood.

In June 2022 Female Dignity left the confines of my home and with my team we exhibited at a music festival event in Bishops Stortford. We were greeted with offers of help and donations, I was delighted to say the least!

At the end of the garden party on Sunday as I was expressing my gratitude to Kim, she turned around and said, “Amanda, you’ve created something great that we can give into, if you hadn’t created this we would not have the opportunity to support it”. When she said that something on the inside of me went off like lightning, it then dawned on me that had I given up in the early days, Sunday would not have happened nor the other great things that are coming Female Dignity’s way.

I want to encourage you today, do not give up on your dreams, stick with the process there are people waiting on you. Only you have that God given gift to manifest the thing He has given you on earth. Be like Nehemiah in the Bible, stay focused and ignore the haters. There are more people who’ll embrace and need what you have, than the minority who do not believe in you. Don’t give up on your dreams, you will be rewarded in ways you never dreamed of!
