About BIDEM
BIDEM is an acronym for bridged, high impact diaspora entrepreneurs to efficient diasporic markets.
Theme of this year’s event: “Inspiring Trust, Deepening The Roots” expands on last year’s “Connecting the Roots, Building Networks Together for Profit and Purpose”
Conveners of BIDEM 2021 The Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs, and Magate Wildhorse are thrilled to convene the second edition of BIDEM virtually and cost inclusive.
The event is organized ” to drive the reduction of the entrepreneurial skills gap faced by Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Canada and other Caribbean diasporic markets as well as Canadians with no history of business in the family, entrepreneurs of African descent.
The CoP hosts BIDEM annually for addressing barriers including sparse networks and lack of experience in growing big businesses, foreignness, market intelligence gaps and lack of community finance and need to increase family support for entrepreneurship.
Despite the challenges some entrepreneurs, professional and technical service providers have grown big businesses in OECD Countries as well as in the Caribbean.
BIDEM presents a unique opportunity for big businesses looking to secure their supply chains, investors, hiring managers, government departments, donor partners, economic development clusters and entrepreneurs looking to boost their COVID _19 pivot.
Micro, Medium, and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) including the weak and ambitious will find a solution for them at BIDEM as will businesses pursuing an inclusive business model or those in search of visibility and opportunities for fulfilling their CSR objectives or simply playing apart in driving the delivery of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
