Management is basically getting things done through other people. The idea that using management skills to get projects done is an age-old philosophy and was used to great effect in the management of cotton and sugar plantations by British, French and Dutch colonisers. This video is an excellent example of how the notion ‘divide and rule’ was used to great effect.
