Two Women Charged for Disorderly Conduct & Fighting

Date:

TWO young women are soon to appear before a city magistrate to explain why they were fighting last Friday (Nov. 11) in downtown Basseterre.

The two women, Joleen Mason of Dieppe Bay and Ashley Benjamin of Parsons, were seen fighting at about 4:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in the vicinity of Karibhana on Liverpool Row and  had attracted a relatively large crowd, including members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Mason and Benjamin were arrested and taken to the Basseterre Police Station, where they were slapped with charges of disorderly conduct and fighting.

According to well-informed sources, they were fighting over a man and were subsequently released on station bail.
