The representatives of the seventh and eighth districts, Dr. Kedrick Pickering and Marlon Penn, spent their first Sunday after the Nov. 7 general elections worshipping with members of the Church of God of Prophecy in Long Look.

The ocassion was  the church’s  annual Friends and Family Sunday that invites family members and friends from all over the BVI, regardless of church affiliation, to join in worship.

The legislators addressed the congregation and offered words of encouragement to the old and young alike. They gave God thanks and said they are looking forward to working with the people of the BVI.

“I stand as an example for the youth of the community that they can make a difference,” Penn said.

Penn and Pickering were greeted warmly by the many church members, friends, family and loved ones.

Bishop Commet R. Chalwell is the pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Long Look. Pickering is also Deputy Premier and Minister of Natural Resources.
