Bola Akindele – GMD Courteville Business Solutions PLC

Following five days of intense networking supported by a series of timely business seminars delivered by highly respected, private and public sector speakers, CaribDirect.com caught up with Courteville Business Solutions Plc’s Group Managing Director Adebola Akindele who sponsored the event.

Courteville Business Solutions Plc is a Nigerian company that provides business solutions based on the opportunities that exist in the Nigerian motor vehicle administration, documentation and other government public service processes.

Mr Akindele, the proud Platinum and main sponsor of the African and Caribbean Business Experience’ first Expo held August 4th to 9th 2012 was all in praise for the way the London based AACBE Expo was conducted. He said, ‘my team and I are very pleased with the way everything was put together over the past week and we have made some very significant business links, particularly in the Caribbean.’

Immaculately dressed in a spotless and fashionable white suit Mr Akindele admitted his company Courteville Business Solutions Plc which is listed on the Commercial Services Sector of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) had not previously sought to access the Caribbean market and he was optimistic that this AACBE Expo would have provided an excellent opportunity to do so.

When asked whether his expectations were met he said, ‘My expectations have been somewhat surpassed as we have been in discussions with a UK based Caribbean focused company, Priority Group Int ltd (PGI) through Caribbean Enterprise Network UK (CENUK) with a view to taking our AutoReg product to the Caribbean starting with Jamaica.’

We asked Mr Akindele…What is AutoReg? OK AutoReg is a web-based business solution for motor vehicle documentation developed and patented for 20 years by Courteville Investment Plc to address the inefficiencies of motor vehicle administration system. It is the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

The AutoReg Motor Vehicle Administration Documentation franchise is currently deployed through over 3500 processing points in the 15 states where its presence has been solidly established. These processing points cut across the AutoReg partnering bank branches, licensing offices and registered independent processing outlets, all with well-trained and well-equipped processors. What are the main benefits of AutoReg? It takes care of all matters to do with enabling drivers to maintain their vehicles legally on the roads of Nigeria, it’s convenient, inexpensive and also cheaper for the government to administer. It’s basically a win win system that benefits all parties.

CENUK Director Denis St Bernard

Mr Akindele made the point that if a product survives market testing in Nigeria he’s convinced it would survive anywhere in the world as Nigeria is a very tough market to penetrate.

When asked of his reasoning behind venturing to the Caribbean he said, ‘Well my discussions with Mr Denis St Bernard, Director Priority Group Int ltd (PGI) and Operations Director of CENUK have shown me that the Caribbean market is not dissimilar to Nigeria’s and the same vehicular registration management challenges exist in Jamaica.

On checking out what CENUK is about and their extensive contacts across the Caribbean I’m convinced together we can do great things. Integrating our AutoReg system in the region should be a “piece of cake” once all the stakeholders are on board’.

Nigeria Stock Exchange

There was no doubt the company boss was pleased with his decision to undertake the main sponsorship of the AACBE’s first Expo.

He confirms, “I have stated to different Journalists prior to this time that the outcome of this expo will keep us busy at Courteville in the next 6 to 12 months at the very least; and that is why we are here and spent so much money on sponsorship of the Expo”.

Akindele further affirmed that at the Expo, the Company had made a lot of retail sales in different products on offer; signifying its efforts to be a world class Company. He believes this experience will serve Courteville well as they look to enter the Caribbean market.

He was very proud that the Nigeria Stock Exchange made a very impressive showing by bringing a number of listed companies to London. He said, “I thank AACBE, and our partners from the Caribbean and the Nigerian Stock Exchange, for a great exhibition.”
