The Anguilla Statistics Department (ASD) would like to alert the business community that the Annual Business Survey 2011 has commenced. The Department has mailed out packages to businesses in Anguilla. All businesses are required to complete the information requested and return the completed form to the ASD no later than February 24, 2012 in the self-addressed envelope supplied; fax; e-mail; or hand delivered.

The information provided will be combined with similar businesses to compile the National Accounts and the Balance of Payments for the 2011 year. These important accounts are necessary to make official estimates on the economic standing and outlook of the country.

If you have not received a copy of the questionnaire, please contact the Anguilla Statistics Department or visit the website http://gov.ai/statistics and download the appropriate copy for your business enterprise. If you require assistance please contact the Chief Statistician – Mrs. Lori-Rae Alleyne-Franklin or Senior Statistical Officer – Ms. Rhina Meade at 497-5731.

Businesses are required by law to complete the questionnaire(s) and upon return; the data supplied to the Department becomes confidential. The protection of your data is legislated and guaranteed, under the Statistics Act of Anguilla. Additionally under Section 19 of the Statistics Act of Anguilla, any person guilty of an offence against this Act or any regulation made there under for which no special punishment is provided is liable on summary conviction to a fine of ,000, and in default of payment, to imprisonment for a period of 6 months; and in the case of a continuing offence to a further fine of 0 for each day on which the offence continues after conviction.

Thank you in advance to all enterprises for their cooperation in this important survey; with their help we will be better able to produce ‘Sound Statistics for Sustainable Development’.
