Cricket Coach Ingram Jones

After the not so comical ending to the last game for the West Indies, there will be many people in the Caribbean with a despondent view that if we couldn’t beat England then there is no chance against India.

I actually don’t share this opinion..  In fact I ask that we as a nation “RALLY ROUND THE WEST INDIES”

Yes, it is accepted that we made a lot of schoolboy errors in selection and on the field antics but this is now behind us. Now the challenge of India awaits..

My thinking is this.. If we can bowl tight, create pressure and bat well learning from our previous defeat there is no reason why India couldn’t crack under pressure and produce the sort of horror show which all cricket teams are capable of. Yes the India side are gifted with so many world class players but their bowling is weak and we have some guys whom can really hit a ball..

Let’s think that the GIBSON factor will this time work its magic, Sammy won’t bat at no3, Chanderpaul will be returned to the squad and as a unit we put on the performance that everyone really wants to see from this squad.

India are favourites… but I think the West Indies can rectify the problems in this game and push on. Being a supporter is about being their in the tough times… and boy have we gone through some rough spells.
