Usain Bolt on Fashion – Keep It simple, Keep it Chilled

Ever wonder what the fastest man on earth wears off the track?

We all love Usain Bolt representing not only Jamaica and the Caribbean but indeed I would have to argue the whole Diaspora regardless of culture, nation or location. They would be very proud of his achievement in athletics which will go down in history and in this Olympic season of pure gold we got to thinking what does a world record breaking gold medalist wear when he is not breaking world records.

Surprisingly fashionable when his is in the mood Hugo Boss being his suit of choice, however Usian Bolt is a true Jamaican man at heart with fashion values and perspectives to match. Being your own man in fashion and making your own statement sums up this olympic champions fashion sense. Not wearing jewellery is a personal statement of Mr Bolt and he stands firm in the belief that men should never wear pink.

A very modest man in fashion, being flashy is just not his style. A tribute to this fact is his £300 Ed Hardy shirt which hangs lonesomely in his wardrobe never to see the light of day. A preference for jeans and tees, keeping it cool and simple in the Caribbean sunshine is the way forward for the worlds favourite Olympian.

You might catch him in a polo shirt but definitely not in knee length socks and shorts. I’m sure we can agree that his simplicity in style is classic and Caribbean and we love that he is true to himself.

Our insights are just a quick summery of a 2009 interview with the Daily Mail (attach link – http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1201654/Its-A-Mans-World-Usain-Bolt.html). Do you think much has changed since then? Should we be expecting to see Mr Bolt blinged out in uptown Kingston with his fashion designer girlfriend any time soon? Only time will tell.
