The Christmas holiday period is supposedly the time of celebration, though for some it is anything but that.
There are continuous images on TV, in magazines, featured heavily on Christmas being the time spent with the smiling family and friends, eating, drinking, and opening presents ~ all having a good time.
The media’s amplification of good cheer and ‘the happy family’ can leave others without families, feeling lonely, unwanted and depressed.
Not everyone is going to be having a great time with family, for whatever reason. There are many reasons too, such as children in care, homelessness etc.
For some this is a reflective period, to question their own relationships, and look at their own lives. This can be a very stressful and frustrating period.
If only we placed such emphasis on ‘the family’s’ togetherness throughout the year, then surely we would have more family unity, and less divorce.
What if we emphasised on a daily occurrence the importance of ‘the family’, then think what the world would be like… enriched with love.
When the heart is locked with pain, sorrow, hurt, loneliness, fear… it simply needs to be unlocked with LOVE. All it takes is for someone to come along with the key, to unlock it. Unlock someone’s heart, and be rest assured, that one day someone shall come along, and do the same for you.
Happy Holidays!! What are your views?
