The Guyana Diaspora Sustainability & Investment Conference (GDSIC) gains momentum with the confirmation of the attendance of High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda in the United Kingdom, Hon. Dr Karen-Mae Hill and High Commissioner for Barbados, Hon. Milton Innis.

Confirmed for the stately Church House Westminster in London, the headquarters of the church of England, on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th October 2023, the inaugural Guyana Diaspora Sustainability & Investment Conference is the only business conference in Europe that focuses on Guyana with this year’s theme, ‘Securing Guyana’s Future Through Diaspora Engagement.’

As speakers of the highest calibre are being confirmed to speak individually and participate in panel discussions, we are pleased to announce Dr Luis Quintero, Chief Advisor – Production Management, Halliburton who will present on, ‘It’s happening: Guyana’s path to sustainable energy independence.’ Dr Quintero has shared his perspective on the world’s energy mix for TV (Azerbaijan, UK, Colombia); as a columnist (World Energy Monthly Review) and a keynote speaker (India, Colombia, Thailand, UK, Japan, Equador). Dr Quintero has more than 40 technical publications and 14 patents.

Central to the success of the Guyana Diaspora Sustainability & Investment Conference is enabling the Guyanese diaspora the opportunity to engage with Guyana government and private sector officials to learn of the many opportunities emerging as a result of the burgeoning oil and gas sector and also to discuss how they can meaningfully participate in the government’s national transformation agenda.

To provide a truly Guyanese experience in keeping with the event’s subtheme, ‘Where business meets culture,’ Hindu singer Bro Khalil Ali and a Tabla player along with the Guyana KWE KWE Group spearheaded by Guyanese Komfa expert and author, Dr Michelle Yaa Asantewa are expected to perform individually and as a unit symbolising the cultural diversity and harmony that characterises Guyanese society.

ABOUT

Guyana Diaspora Sustainability & Investment Conference (GDSIC)

GDSIC was conceived following the successful Guyana International Energy Conference & Expo held in Georgetown, February 14th to 17th 2023 where we recognised a significant opportunity to bridge the inadvertent information / knowledge gap between Guyana and the Guyanese Diaspora in the United Kingdom and by extension, Europe. Essentially GDSIC will strengthen linkages and build alliances that will help Guyana’s growth and development globally.

Updates regarding speakers, special guests and so on will be provided on a regular basis. For details on how to register for the Conference or buy stalls contact our switchboard on +44 (0) 207 050 0728, or Direct Line +44 (0) 750 814 2478
