In Caribbean news. The first ever Ms Elegance Pageant show for women 50+ was held on Saturday 19th October 2013 in London, England. The show, founded and created by Lorraine Williams a native from Guyana was held in support of breast cancer research UK.

Eleven beautiful contestants graced the stage representing different nationalities in one of the three themed sections “Traditional wear.” Another vibrant category was the 70’s themed outfits which had disco music playing on full blast and the ladies dancing and showcasing their best moves.

The Evening wear was the final section and a best dressed prize was awarded to the lucky lady for her efforts.

Live entertainment on the night was provided by singer Zacheous Jackson and award winning recording artiste Lovella Ellis; daughter of the legendary musician Alton Ellis. Music was also provided by GT promotion [TAFAWA] Mr Marlon of Conscious Radio [102.0 FM].

Host and Compere: Allison [GT EMPRESS] introduced all the ladies on stage for each sectional theme look and each one came out escorted by a well dressed male companion.

Ms. Sheer Elegance founder Lorraine Williams seemed overwhelmed with the support and fantastic turnout that came along to the show and was tearful upon giving her accounts of her experience so far. Sheer Elegance 50+ looks to continue next year and are welcoming all those who wish to take part to start enquiring now.

This year’s prizes included: 1st prize a spa for two; 2nd prize dinner for two and 3rd prize a bottle of Courvoisier plus bouquets of flowers and awards for each of the top three.
