It was created to facilitate the demands presented by many of the parents, families, friends and High Commissioners in the UK Caribbean diaspora for more youth involvement.
The contest was created to be a positive and confidence-building experience for young girls and to provide a platform to showcase excellence in education, talent and cultural awareness.
Many of the countries featured under the Miss Teen Caribbean UK brand are English speaking Caribbean Islands and include: Miss Teen Jamaica UK, Miss Teen Barbados UK, Miss Teen St. Lucia UK, Miss Teen Guyana UK, and Miss Teen BVI UK.
The aim is for the girls to make new friends, instill poise and most importantly to provide positive role models and mentors that will assist in the development of this group of young ladies within the UK Caribbean community.
The first showcase is anticipated for August 2014 and registration will open in the New Year for candidates to be part of this unique experience.
As well as the show event, The Miss Teen Caribbean UK involvement includes social clubs such as dance, drums, steel band performance, netball and activities for children aged 8 years and upwards that are taught by professionals from the UK Caribbean diaspora.
