In last week’s article I wrote about ‘Discovering Your God Given Purpose’. As important and crucial this is in order for us to live a fulfilled life, we must also understand what season, time or stage we are at in our lives. We certainly don’t want to be living where we are either chasing our tail, or running on a hamster’s wheel, expecting change yet nothing is happening.
Divine scrutiny of our daily life is therefore required and we must ask ourselves a bucket load of questions like are we being busy or productive. Being ‘Busy’ according to Cambridge dictionary is “the fact of working hard or giving your attention to a particular thing:”¹, whereas ‘Productive’ means “resulting in or providing a large amount or supply of something”². From the above descriptions we can see that busyness is working hard without results and being productive is focused on providing results. However, putting the two together equates success, wheras working hard with no results is dire.
Other questions in order to determine what season we’re in should include, are we in the season of planning? Or are we just existing in bodies where we’re dreading getting up each day blinded to the opportunities around us? We are very fortunate that we live in a country where we have access to education, training and whatever else our heart desires.
Many of us are in jobs which finish at a certain time, and are not yet walking in the thing that our heart desires. Why not consider re-evaluating how time is spent after work and if you’re unemployed. Folks, we have the world at our fingertips through mobile phones where we can access whatever we need, we can learn new skills on it, enabling us to grow to grab new ideas and meet fascinating people.
I was praying last week, because a lot of great things came my way, but what I noticed was the same pattern wrapped in different packages and people, and I did not like that one little bit. During prayer this morning God gave me a brilliant idea and the funny thing is I already have customers, before I’ve done one single thing which has never, ever happened in my life before. So what season am I in you may ask? In relation to this idea I am in the planning stage and my idea should become a reality in the next 3 months, (I will let you know when it’s launching).
So yes, like you I want to see change in my life, but in order for that to happen we really need to analyse our season. So what are you prepared to do to change your season? I encourage you to start praying and planning in order for you to live and enjoy a hardworking productive life, the choice is yours to go for it!
