My guest this week is Sanchia Alasia, who is the Mayor for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Sanchia was born in Jamaica and grew up in Newham, East London. While at university studying Sociology and Politics, and then a Masters Politics, Policy and Government, Sanchia was an active member of her student unions. During this time she worked on many different issues and became an Equality and Diversity Specialist.
