You are wonderfully made, as the Bible says in (Psalm 139:13-16), or do you believe in the lie that you’re worthless, not good enough, not good looking enough, not intelligent enough, not a good enough wife or husband or mother or father?
The focus of this Blog is more on men, because the rate of suicide among men is far higher than for women.
I believe this has something to do with the fact that women communicate their problems better, whereas men tend to believe they have to be strong and in control of their emotions at all times.
The Bible also tells them to be the head of his household and the provider (1Timothy 5:8.) Therefore, if he is without a job, he is likely to feel hopeless and the belief that things will never improve starts to set in; it then becomes beyond his power to do anything about the circumstances and pressures in his life.
A woman in these circumstances is more likely to turn to their friends or to the church, but men will often bottle up their emotions until they explodes. The danger of bottling up emotional pain can lead to many things, including wife abuse or abuse of children.
What does the Bible say?
Psalm 139:13-16“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Isaiah 64:8“and yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.”
Ephesians 3:17-19“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
We should not forget that we are spirit beings and that God truly loves and cares for us. Until we know the breadth and depth of God’s love we cannot be filled with His fullness. Elohim knew you before you were born, and the Word says He formed you in your mother’s womb.
He is the potter and you are the clay, would God make anything that wasn’t good? When we ask the Holy Spirit to be awakened in us, we are acknowledging that we are all part of one body.
We are heirs of Christ, He wants us to be a part of His own family, and his love for you is everlasting. 1 John 3:1 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
God has a great plan for your life. God has created us in His image (Genesis 1:26-27). He created us for a purpose. God has a specific plan in mind for everyone.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”(Jeremiah 29:11).
God’s plan is for life, not death. The Bible teaches that both physical and spiritual deaths are the result of our sin and disobedience to God, but eternal life is a gift to those who receive it.
(Romans 6:23) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Jesus is calling you and he promised to give us rest from our problems. (Matthew 11:28)“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
