Pageant news. An array of beauty, talent and poise graced the Miss Barbados UK Stage on Saturday 25th April 2015, with Victoria Small, 21, being crowned the first Miss Barbados UK, Marika Kinch first runner up and Sophia Mackay second runner up.
Every seat in the house was filled as the crowd enjoyed the show that was broken down into four sections, opening introduction, swim wear, evening wear and Q&A. The delegates were judged on each section on the night, with those scores being collated with the scores of pre-judged segments.
Marika Kinch won the creative wear, most improved, people’s choice and most dedicated contestant segments. Milan Gomes won the most sincere and talent segments, and Sophia Mackay took the picture perfect and Miss Twilight segments.
“Thank you Jesus! I won by the grace of God! I am overwhelmed with gratitude and feel so honoured to have made history and to represent my beautiful country that is like no other, as the first Miss Barbados UK”, said Victoria Small, who was brought to tears when she was announced as the winner.
Victoria Small and the Cinco Amor Ltd team will be travelling to Barbados, staying at Divi Southwinds Beach Resort later this year, as the winner undertakes a series of activities.
As this years’ Miss Barbados UK comes to a close, the Cinco Amor Ltd team are already preparing for 2016 and it is safe to say that this prestigious pageant has now become a staple event in the UK calendar.
