THURSDAY JULY 04, 2013; KINGSTOWN, SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – In St Vincent news, the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Cricket Association Selection Committee, has picked a squad of players to participate in the 2013 Windward Islands Under-19 Cricket Tournament.
The Committee, chaired by Mr. Urius King picked the eighteen players including 5 reserves to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the upcoming Windward Islands Under-19 tournament.
Gidron Pope who is currently captaining Windward Islands Under-17 in the West Indies 2013 Regional Under-17 Cricket Tournament in Tobago has been given another opportunity to lead.
The team also compromises highly promising fast bowler Ray Jordan, along with other experienced players such as Anson Latchman and Otis Matthews.
Former National and Windward Islands batsman Bertram Stapleton will coach the team, with former National off spinner Dyke Cato as the Manager.
Defending champions Grenada will host the tournament this year from 6th August – 14th 2013, and the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 2013 Under-19 cricket squad is as follows Gidron Pope – Captain, Anson Latchman – Vice Captain, Otis Matthews, Teran Barnum, Denson Hoyte, Romario Grant, Romano Pierre, Shannon Hooper, Ray Jordon, Darius Martin, Kimali Williams, Zan Dabreo, and Ziani DaSilva.
