MonologueSlam UK has attracted high profile actors like Lenny Henry (Comedy of Errors & Othello), Javone Prince & Andrew Brooke (Phone Shop) James Anderson (Holby City) Chucky Venn (EastEanders) plus some of the UK’s top Directors such as Nick Bagnall, Clint Dyer, Paulette Randall, Kerry Michael, Gregory Thompson, James Dacre, as well as Casting Directors, Sarah Hughes, Nicky Bligh and John Cannon.
This has lead to a number of big success stories, including the casting of Monologueslam UK winner Ryan Calais Cameron in the Westbridge at the Royal Court, after being seen by director Clint Dyer.

The Judges:
Justin Young
BBC Producer & Playwright
In 2007 he won a place on the BBC Writers Academy and went on to write for Doctors, Eastenders, Casualty and Holby City. Justin Young’s work as a playwright includes The Houghmagandie Pack, Fierce – An Urban Myth (both for Grid Iron), Metagama, Moonwalking In Chinatown (both for Soho Theatre), and with Nick Powell, August (National Theatre Studio). In January 2010 he became Head Writer and Consultant Producer of Holby City before being promoted in June 2011 to Head Writer and Consultant Series Producer.
Oliver Kent
BBC Senior Producer
Oliver Kent originally worked on Casualty between 1998 and 2001, working his way up from researcher to script editor. He ultimately became series producer in January 2007 and has since created a hoard of new characters, most notably interns Ruth Winters (Georgia Taylor) and Toby De Siva (Matthew Needham). He is now senior producer on Holby City.
Julia Crampsie
BBC Casting Director
Julia Crampsie, casting executive at the BBC, is responsible for casting most of the great actors on TV today. She has worked on shows like Eastenders, Holby City, The Night Watch, Land Girls, Lark Rise to Candleford, Daiziele and Pascoe, Waking the Dead.
