In Health news. I am a big believer that “you are what you eat”.  But if you use toxic substances on your skin like certain moisturizers, deodorants and shampoos, it won’t do you any good to eat healthy.  To stay healthy, you must go all the way.

Xenoestrogens[1] are a type of xenohormone that imitates estrogen. They can be either synthetic or natural chemical compounds.  Synthetic xenoestrogens are widely used industrial compounds, such as PCBs, BPA and phthalates, which have estrogenic effects on a living organism.  There are a lot of them in the cosmetic products as well.

Skin is the body’s largest organ.  Take good care of it.  Your skin reveals to the world how healthy you are and how old you are.  Positive lifestyle behaviors keep you healthy and your skin looking younger.  The skin, along with hair and nails, is the protective covering of the body.  Skin supports the life of all other body parts and plays a role in maintaining the immune system.

Skin absorbs up to 60% of material placed upon it.  According to the Health Science Institute you absorb more chlorine in a 10 minute shower than drinking eight 8 ounce glasses of water.

Your skin is the organ that comes into contact with the rest of the world. It holds body fluids in, preventing dehydration, and keeps harmful microbes out — without it, we would get infections. Your skin is full of nerve endings that help you feel things like heat, cold, and pain. If you couldn’t feel these things, you could get badly hurt and not even know it!

TRY THIS…

Peel a clove of garlic and put it between your toes.  Keep it there for 15 minutes.  What do you taste?  In 26 seconds after exposure to chemicals, they can be found in every organ of your body.

Since your skin plays such an important role in protecting your body, you should keep it as healthy as you can. This will help you keep from getting sick or having damage to your bones, muscles, and internal organs, because they all are affected by your hormones.  If you have a healthy balance between estrogen and progesterone, you will look young, vibrant and sexy.
