Home African Caribbean Debra Glace says: Men have no excuse this Valentine’s day

Caribbean news. I made the suggestion last week that one solution for dealing with the issue of unemployment in Saint Lucia, may be, to have all the ladies voluntarily fall out of the workforce and stay

home to care for their families, as they did in old times. Think about this for a moment…

This sacrifice by women would also take care of two more pressing social issues that we have not been able to get a grip on….. 1. Strengthening of the Family Unit. Strong family units have always been the base of strong societies. Today the family unit is weak and so too is the social structure. If women had more time to focus on the home, the family and their individual children, maybe then we would have less juvenile delinquency, more respectful, well adjusted children, more socially responsible young adults and less crime? Maybe?

And 2. Some men have complained that they have been marginalized and have become irrelevant. Do you think that if women stayed at home totally dependent on the men to bring home the bacon, that the men may then feel strong, important and relevant? Article and commentary courtesy DBS Television.
