Dead Man Walking!

Many people all around the world have just celebrated Easter Sunday, known as ‘ Resurrection Sunday’ to many.

Christians believe it is a time to remember that Jesus ‘the Messiah’ of the whole world rose from the dead after suffering a horrific death on a Roman cross.

Resurrection means that which was dead coming back to life’.  Many believe that Jesus not only rose from the dead but also spent many days on the earth after his ‘resurrection’ and was seen by many of his friends and family.

Now that may sound unbelievable to some, but it’s what gives Christians considerable hope and comfort that ‘our Messiah lives’.

You may feel like ‘dead man/woman walking’ as many of your hopes, aspirations and dreams have died.  Perhaps you need a resurrection in your spirit, soul, body, family, finance, business, relationships and vision.  If so, can I encourage you to meditate on the verses below everyday and watch ‘your resurrection‘ take place.

Spirit

‘So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful  slaves.  Instead you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as His own children.  Now we call him ‘Abba Father’ .’ (Romans 8 v 15)

Soul

‘…And God breathed in man and he became a living soul…’

( Genesis 2v 7)

Body

‘….Do you want to  be made well?’….Jesus said ‘Rise take up your bed and walk.’ (St John 5 verses  7 and 8)

Jesus said  ‘I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’ (St John 11 v 25)

Family

‘…As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord..’

(Joshua 24 v 15)

Finance

Give freely and become more wealthy, be stingy and lose everything. (Proverbs 11 v 24)

Business

When Isaac planted his crops that year he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted for the Lord blessed Him. (Genesis 26 v 12)

Relationships

‘But I say to you who are willing to listen, love your enemies.  Do good to those who hate you.  Bless those who curse you.  Pray for those who hurt you.  If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also…’  (Luke 6 v 27 to 29)

Vision

‘Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can.  That’s how many descendants you will have.’ (Genesis 15 v 5)

Make these sayings personal to you and let me know how you get on.

(Scriptures taken from the The New King James Version Bible and New Living Translation Bible)
