Linden Fraser and Earl Daley, both from the Caribbean have been appointed coaches of the USA Cricket Academy Under-17 and Under-19 teams which will tour India to play matches and get exposure from December 18 to January 5, 2015.
Announcing the appointment of the coaches, USA Cricket Academy president Ashok Patel and Global Operation Manager Rahul Sharma said that the American youth cricketers will play matches at international venues in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Mumbai (Maharashtra).
“We are very excited that our two coaches will be actively going to participate in selecting and shortlisting the players for the India Tour. All players first list will be announced by Saturday October 4 2014,” the USA Cricket Academy officials said.
The shortlisted players have to deposit their air fare fee, insurance and administrative expense to USA Cricket Academy by Monday October 13, 2014.
USA Cricket Academy will take care of each player’s local expense in India which includes hotel accommodation, cricket facility, local transportation, uniform, breakfast, lunch and dinner during their stay from December 19 to January 4, 2015
“USA Cricket Academy is committed to helping the National Youth player’s development of U15 and U19 teams for World Cup success,” Ashok and Rahul said in the joint press release.
Fifty-year old Linden from Guyana is a certified International Cricket Council Americas Regional coach and is English Cricket Board Certified coach. He donned the Guyana’s U19 and senior team’s colors before turning professional.
Linden played in Scotland and England’s Lancashire League, Linden has devoted himself to cricket development. At present Linden is coach of the New York U19 and the USA U15 and also USA U-19 selector.
Earl Daley, who hails from Kingston (Jamaica), is an experienced coach and selector. Daley, an all-rounder, has trained the New York Regional and Atlantic Regional teams.
