It’s that time of the year where we need to focus the most; teachers are back teaching, mothers and fathers are back to the usual routine of dropping and picking up their children to and from school, and we, the children, are back at school, college or university.
It’s the time that focus is needed the most as we make the transition from holiday mode to work mode; which can be difficult. Distraction always has a tendency to arise at this time, as we procrastinate over what really needs to get done right now and worry about things that we really want to happen or do in the future.
We tend to focus too much on where we picture ourselves in the future,
whether that be in the long term – 8 or 10 years or in the short term- by the end of the year. We forget about the now and focus too much on the future, but in reality we should focus on the now because that’s what makes the future.
You can’t change time and you can’t change destiny; just know your dreams and follow your dreams; plan to achieve what you want to achieve and you will succeed.
‘Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it’. Greg Anderson
