Ashford walks after successful operation

TUESDAY MARCH 26, 2013; KINGSTOWN, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – A few weeks ago a plea went out on behalf of Ashford Richards who were suffering from a spinal injury, which resulted from lifting heavy boxes during the Christmas season.

For weeks, his mother was at her wits end trying to raise the needed funds to finance the operation. Through prayers and the kind hearts of a number of individuals, the needed US$7,000.00 was realized.

On March 07, 2013 Dr. Justin B.L. La Rose, a neurosurgeon of the Downtown Medical Centre in St. George’s Grenada, carried out the delicate operation at the Milton Cato General Hospital in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Within days, 25-year-old Ashford was gingerly moving around and within one week, he was discharged from the medical institution. It’s sheer joy for his mother who for months was a near nervous wreck with anxiety.

She was full of praise for the Almighty God without whom nothing is possible, and extremely thankful for all of the institutions and individuals who in a number of ways assisted her in not just raising the needed financing, but giving her that moral support when all seemed lost.

At home, Ashford is hobbling about with the aid of crutches as he goes through his therapy. He is expected to be able to walk without the aid of those in months, and to resume brisk walking soon after. http://ow.ly/jskwK
