Sean Paul and Beyoncé (The Truth)

Rewind back ten years to 2003, Saddam Hussein was toppled, Arnold Schwarzenegger switched from acting to politics and a certain Beyoncé Knowles and Sean Paul collaborated on “Baby Boy”

Let’s set aside the tracks unique rhythm and obvious success for a moment, rumors have been rife for years that B and Sean went beyond simple artistic collaboration and had a brief but very intense romantic affair.

These rumors were given even more weight due to the fact that Jay-Z, at that time courting Ms. Knowles had apparently barred Sean from performing the single with Beyoncé at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

Sean has now publicly opened up about these events in a recent interview “It was not a big deal to me, but it really blew up into crazy stuff, that’s how rumors start, I’ve known Jay-Z from before I knew her, and this was down to the general public blowing things up.”

When asked why he had made a point of not commenting on this for years, Sean answered, “I just remained quiet about it for years because it was doing its work. There was just a lot of controversy, she’s an amazing artist, the song was at number one for nine weeks, and so that was a very special time for me and for Dancehall.”

In my opinion this is simply one of those scenarios between two people, best left alone. Article courtesy UrbanIslandz.com

Snoop Lion – Death Threats

It’s not been a massive amount of time since Snoop Lion (Dogg) released his reggae album – Reincarnated but by all accounts, he will not be making another, technically speaking he may not be making any trips to the Caribbean for the foreseeable future due to several death threats from the Rastafarian Community

Last month Snoop admitted that he may NOT do another reggae album in Jamaica due to issues with Bunny Wailer and members of the Rastafarian Millennium Council who have accused the rap icon of exploiting Rasta culture for financial gain.

An inside source at the council said, “Am not surprised that Snoop don’t want to come back to the island because I heard that he is getting threats from other Rasta’s in the community, Rasta Culture is about peace, love and unity, these rastas who are sending there threats are not members of the council and do not represent us, we do not address issues with violence, we love Snoop and welcome him with open arms

Despite all this bad feeling, Snoop has said he will continue to spread the Rastafarian message of peace and love.

His latest single ‘No Guns Allowed’ featuring his daughter Cori B and Drake was released April 23Redcarpershelly.com
