Africa news. The 9th Screen Nation Film & Television Awards, will take place tonight at the luxurious Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London.
The show is hosted by top comedian Ali Baba aka the Godfather of Nigerian comedy and Caroline Chikezie, the gorgeous Hollywood based actress and newest star of the iconic 24 series starring Kiefer Sutherland.
An eclectic mix of media and sports personalities, celebrities and entrepreneurs alongside international government officials combine to make a refreshing line-up of special guests confirmed to present awards at the event that has been described by the media as the ‘black Bafta’s’:
The roster is led by Ed Vaizey MP, UK Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries; Gbenga Akinnagbe, enigmatic star of the critically acclaimed The Wire and currently starring in the new series of 24 being shot in London; veteran radio and television personality Eddie Nestor, British/ Nigerian entrepeneur and founder of OK! Nigeria, Alexander Amosu, the sensational award winning Amanda Foster, the UK’s only Black stuntwoman and body double for Halle Berry; fun loving Capital XTRA presenters Jade Avia and Abrantee; and the UK Caribbean’s most influential media company, CaribDirect Multi-Media.
