World Boss Turned Cell Boss…?

It seems the World Boss has now become the Cell Boss due to his recent arrest and subsequent charges laid against him after a search of one of his

hang out spots turned up a dead body.

The self proclaimed World Boss aka Vybz Kartel, whose given name is Adidja Palmer is being charged with murder, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to commit murder.

Bwai teach’ looking in from the outside it look sticky pon yo.

The question on everybody’s lips though is how this will affect the World Boss’s new hit reality show that everyone is talking about, Teacha’s Pet.  It has been confirmed that, the local television station carrying the show, CVM TV will still be broadcasting the show, Telecommunications Company, LIME, however have decided to drop the show.  So as far as Teacha’s Pet goes, if you want to watch the raw uncut scenes, you will just have to logon to the show’s website, www.teachaspet.com

Now, whether or not Mr. Palmer is guilty, I cannot speak to that.  However, what I can say is that, this is why these artists should refrain from associating themselves with persons of shady character.

The fans and supporters will say ‘a frame dem a frame him’ and make other statements similar.  However what one must realize is that we are judged based on the company that we keep, like it or not.  So if you constantly associate yourself with criminals, you will be seen as a criminal.  It is sad to say but a lot of our artists have been associating themselves with criminals for a long time and this is really a bad look on dancehall and the music industry on a whole.

This gives the fighters of Dancehall music even more weapon to fight the music, making a direct link between criminality and Dancehall.

As for the Teacha I wish him the best as the music cannot afford to lose another son to the prison cell or the dirt, especially when he is in his prime.

I think I speak for majority of Dancehall’s fans when I say that the music cannot afford to lose this lyrical genius, especially not now when every other artist seem to be in some kind of lyrical feud.  We need somebody to make the hit songs for the ladies during the festive season which is fast approaching.
