Wii: Great Games to Get Going!

You’re never too old for games and what’s cozier than a Sunday evening playing your favourite game with friends while munching on some snacks or slurping an ice cold beer or juice (whatever your preference). I always love games and almost everyone I know enjoys having a good ‘ole competitive video match. Today, I watched a family of 15 jamming to Wii’s Just Dance. They danced for hours and were laughing every minute of those hours. They took loads of photos and it was clear that they were all having a great time (and guess what? Most of them were adults).

Hence the first game system that I’m recommending is the Wii, that white/black console with the remote shaped controls, connective devices known as Nunchucks and Wii motions, wheels, etc that all transcends through the usage of a sensor. I recommend one for every family’s house. It’s a great way to have fun and even exercise. Do not just get the console and controls; get the Wii Fit Board, Nunchucks and probably the Wheels too. This is a game for up to four people at one time all depending on the type of gaming disc it is.

The Wii makes you feel as if you’re actually inside that TV  partaking in the game yourself. Here are five great gaming discs that I recommend:

  1. Wii Sports – This disc comes with several games to play such as tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. The Wii controls become your bat, your ball, your tennis racket and your club. For boxing, a Nunchuck is required as both hands (the nunchuck and control) are used in boxing. It’s like you out playing a regular sport with a few tricks. Up to four people can participate in this game (except in Boxing which allows only two players maximum)
  2. Super smash brothers – one of those animated fighting games. The Wii control can be used in a vertical position on its own or upwards with a Nunchuck. For this game, you get to relax and press ½ to fight or a/b. The person that does the most defeating will be the winner. Also, up to four players can be in this game.
  3. Nascar Racing/Need for speed undercover – This is played as the Wii control used like a steering wheel with 2 being the gas, 1 being reverse and the same goes for a/b when using a Nunchuck. Four players are the maximum limit for this game.
  4. Just Dance – not only is this game fun but it helps you to keep in shape while enjoying yourself. This is played with the Wii control that should move in line with the girl/guy dancing on the screen.
  5. Wii Fit – This is a great game for some active play. Wii Fit is like your own personal virtual trainer. You will need the Wii Fit board to do this one. This disc includes running, dodge ball among other fun and sporty games.

That’s the five discs that I recommend to start off with. I know that you’ll enjoy them. This is a great way to entertain, get some laughs and spend some quality time with your loved ones. Get your gaming on!
